Abstract
|
|
|
1. Effect of intraventricular oxytocin on the plasma concentration of glucose and free fatty acid (FFA) was investigated in the duck.
2. Oxytocin over 30mU(intraventricular, Li. Vt.) elevated the levels of plasma FFA as well as glucose in the duck.
3. Regitine-pretreatment did not suppress the metabolic effects of oxytocin (i. vt.) but propranolol-pretreatment abolished these effects.
4. It is suggested that adrenal discharge by activation of sympathoadrenal system plays role in metabolic effects of oxytocin (i. vt.)
